Our story
BetterFlare was founded by Tom, a flight instructor from Sweden with over 15 years of experience in aviation training. Since earning his instructor rating in 2010, Tom has worked with countless students pursuing their pilot dreams — and noticed a recurring problem.
Flight training is a complex journey. Students often left lessons unsure of where they stood in the syllabus, what exercises remained, or what to prepare for next. Instructors were buried in paperwork and fragmented record-keeping. The lack of transparency slowed progress and made the whole experience harder than it needed to be.
That frustration became the spark behind BetterFlare: a digital platform designed to bring clarity and structure to flight training. With BetterFlare, instructors log lessons on the go while students can follow their progress from home — seeing exactly what's been completed, what's coming up, and where to focus their study.
We believe flight education should be transparent, efficient, and motivating for everyone involved. That's what we're building — one feature at a time.
